Freshwater Game Fish Identification Rug
The Freshwater Game Fish Identification Rug combines vintage natural-history artwork with a detailed reference-style collection of popular freshwater sport fish. Featuring illustrated fish, scientific names, fishing records, and an aged parchment-inspired design, this rug is a distinctive choice for anglers, fishing cabins, game rooms, and rustic interiors.
Design
The rug is designed like a vintage freshwater game fish encyclopedia, with detailed watercolor-style illustrations arranged into organized categories. Featured groups include Bass, Crappie, Catfish, Pike, Salmon & Trout, and Walleye, showcasing a variety of well-known freshwater sport fish.
Each illustrated fish is presented with reference-style information such as its common name, scientific name, and selected fishing record details, creating an educational and collectible appearance.
The background uses an aged sepia and parchment-inspired color palette, while distressed brown marks and weathered border details add an antique character. Selected versions also include a designated area for a custom family name, such as “The Smith.”
